Deep, lasting change begins when we move beyond simply managing symptoms and start exploring what it means to truly thrive. For over four decades, my work has been centered on a single, vital goal: helping individuals, couples, and families dissolve the roadblocks to their happiness and rediscover their natural capacity for joy. 

My Approach: Mindful Psychology

I believe that psychological health is inseparable from our sense of meaning and connection. To support this, I pioneered a "wellness model" known as Mindful Psychology. This holistic approach integrates several key disciplines to provide a comprehensive path to healing:

  • Western & Eastern Psychology: Blending modern clinical traditions with timeless Eastern philosophical wisdom.
  • Affective Neuroscience: Utilizing the latest research on how the brain processes and regulates emotions.
  • Spirituality & Consciousness: Bridging the gap between psychological health and a deeper sense of purpose.

My focus is to help you move through stress and anxiety to access a state of presence, compassion, and resilience.

Professional Foundation

While my approach is heart-centered, it is built on a rigorous professional foundation. I am a licensed clinical psychologist, LCSW, and MFT with a journey that began at the University of California, Berkeley, and continued through a PhD in Clinical Psychology.

Throughout my career, I have been honored to serve in several leadership and educational roles:

  • Founder & President: I lead the Academy of Mindful Psychology, where I develop specialized training for therapists and wellness practitioners worldwide.
  • Academic Leadership: I previously served as the President and CEO of a professional psychology graduate school, guiding its transition into a national university system.
  • Author: I shared my findings on human transformation in the bestselling book, Emotional Well-Being: Embracing the Gift of Life.
