Gratitude is defined as the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful. It is often felt toward another when they have done something that is caring, beneficial or endearing. It is an emotion that we frequently overlook. And yet when we allow ourselves to feel gratitude it is a positive, heart-opening experience.
I have just returned from a visit to Yosemite National Park. Talk about gratitude. The grandeur of Yosemite is so magnificent it compelled me to experience a deep sense of gratitude, the gratitude of simply being part of this planet. I am indeed thankful for the magnificence of the earth and the wonders that life beholds. Sitting atop a granite boulder, overlooking the Yosemite Valley, I indeed, Embraced the Gift of Life.
My wish for you, as well as my wish for myself, is that we cultivate an “attitude of gratitude.” Each day, let’s allow ourselves an experience of gratitude, whether as a result of the magnificence of a Yosemite, or the simple awareness of the gentle laugh of a toddler passing by.
What are you grateful for today?
